COMMENTARY ON THE BOOK OF ROMANS
FOREWORD
As we approach the study of the book of Romans, It demands a very close study of every line, every word, and phase , every sentence is like a vain of gold running through the mine, the Bible. Every word is like a ruby, every precept like pure sapphire, that reminds me of all the precious stones that make up the foundation of the Heavenly city. But The most precious stone of all sits on the throne of that city. That is the rock the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said "Search the scripture, for in the volume of the book you will find me". No other place is He so precious as in the redemptive work for the lost sinner, The work that bought the souls of men back from hell. In this book you will find all the doctrines of God. The most precious lesson anyone will ever learn from the Bible is found in the book of ROMANS. The theme of the whole Bible is found in this book. Chapter 1;16 THE GOSPEL OF GOD IS THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION; That is the reason for Jesus coming to this world, I Tim.1;15 "Is a faithful saying and worthy of ALL acceptation, That Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners".
JOB 28;7,8, "There is a path, which no fowl knoweth. And which the vulture’s eye hath not seen, The lion’s whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it. Where is wisdom to be found? Man knoweth not the price there of, neither is it found in the land of the living V-13. It is the path that Jesus walked. He is the wisdom of God, I Cor.1;30. That wisdom and all the jewels thereof can only be found in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, and he can only be found in the volume of the Book, The word of God.
Many great men have made great statements about this book, Dr. Martin Luther found his great message of deliverance in this Epistle. John Wesley found his deliverance while listening to Luther’s introduction to it. What happened to Luther, Augustine, Calvin, Westly, That left their mark on the world, could happen to us..
We need to just read this book over and over and study it seriously, don't do it though if you are not prepared to bare the consequences as these great preachers did. Reading this book of ROMANS has repeatedly resulted in revival through out the world.
Paul said in his Epistle to the Corinthians 12;32 that he shows us a more excellent way. I believe it can be found right here in the book of Romans. It is LOVE that bought salvation's plan, and that same LOVE that brought it down to man. It is the path that the saviour walked from GLORY to GLORY. It is a path that only the redeemed of God can walk on, Isa.35;8,9. Compare it with Job 28;7,8,9. All through the Bible is a fine line from Glory to Glory,, Jesus walked it without spot or blemish, Enoch found it and walked right into the portals of Glory, Elijah found it and was whisk away in a whirlwind, right into the very presence of God. The writers of the new testament found it, Paul penned it down so plain that even a little child could find it, and you can find it, remember what Peter done when he found it, He went out and preached it and 3000 souls were added to the Kingdom of God.
This book reminds one of going into a mine, where all manners of precious stones are. And the more you dig the more excited you get, because each stone you find is more precious than the last. If the CHRISTIANS of our day could ever grasp the reality of this book of Romans, there would be a revival break out all over this land that would shake the world. To the Christian it is a tree of life, planted right in the middle of life, and until a man finds it, he will die in his '"sin". But praise be to God, for his precious Son.
When one finds him and he becomes a part of his life, he will live forever. It would be better to have never found these greats truths of this book, Than to have found them and not walk in them.
