Part 3 The guilty world.
ROMANS 1:18-23
The wrath of God revealed
18. For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven, against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Paul starts right here to show the contrast between the ungodliness and unrighteousness, and in 19 and 20 the Righteousness and Holiness of God is manifested. Verse - 18 tells of the wrath of God to come on all who dwell on the earth in Ungodliness and unrighteousness, those who never accept the righteousness of God, which is revealed in the universe, where the things of the creation are revealed so that man is without excuse Even his eternal power and the Godhead are shown in creation. And even the sinner (natural man) has something within his bosom to make him understand by the things that are made. The universe is a revelation of the power and Deity of God;
Psa.19; “The Heavens declare the Glory of God, and the irmament showeth his handywork”. Even nature gives the impression that God is a real person.
VERSE 21: Paul has shown in V-20 how that man is without excuse, because he has seen the Glory of God in Creation. And in V-21 Man glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish hearts were darkened.
VERSE 22: Professing them selves to be wise they became fools. They saw the Glory of God but instead of turning to him, they turned from God ,WHY? Because it was the nature of man to want something to fill the void that was left in the fall. Man lost something when Adam fell in the garden of Eden, but even now in Paul’s day as well as ours, man will reject something good and try to fill that void with all manners of sin., which can never satisfy the soul. Only JESUS CHRIST can satisfy that longing deep down in your soul. God without man is still God, But man without God is nothing. Man without God always makes the wrong decision. Man tries to do things his own way, but they are not the ways of the Lord . Heb.3;10. A young son thinks he knows it all, till he gets into trouble then he runs to his father, Remind you of anyone? . 23. And changed the Glory of the uncorruptiable God, into an image made like corruptible man. 24. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanliness through the lust of their own hearts; To dishonor their own bodies between themselves.
VERSE,24-32: We look at these verses and say the heathen are terrible, but if you think about it they are no different today. They are still heathen, Heathen being a man without God. Who is Paul talking to? He wrote this letter to the church at Rome. He is laying a foundation for the rest of his letter, showing the contrast between the heathen and the righteous, not between the Jew and the Greek. Here and for the rest of this chapter he is talking about the apostate world, Those who did not want to retain God in their thoughts. V-24 “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lust of their own hearts. To dishonor their own bodies between them selves.”
Paul starts to tell us about them that change the use of their bodies into unnatural use, an that of a man or women, V26,27, Homosexuals dishonor their own bodies, and God will turn them over to a reprobate mind. Today in our society people are changing the truth of the word into a lie. A practicing homosexual who will stand up and say he is a child of God and then go to bed that night with some man IS A LIAR OF THE WORST SORT. IT IS HYPOCRISY AT THE WORST. No time has there ever been in this world so many religions that will stand and claim their way is the way to Heaven, when all the time they are condoning the lesbians and homosexuals in their churches. The thing that makes it so terrible is that, it is the pastors that are telling them they are alright. The biggest lie of the century is that you can live any way you want to and still go to Heaven. NOT SO!!!!. Jesus said there is only one way into Heaven and no matter what anyone else says it doesn’t change it one iota..
